Huckleberry Park, located in Braeswood Place at the corner of Braes Blvd. and Aberdeen Way, has been transformed into a neighborhood nature inspired SPARK park and green space that is now available to our entire community. Our goal for improving the park is to provide a neighborhood park that offers the benefits of the outdoors, the ability for all age groups to engage in health and fitness, and foster a stronger sense of community within a secure environment.

We are thrilled to present the Huckleberry Park conceptual design!

Key items we would like to emphasize:

A 20% increase in playground area
Resolution of drainage issues and artificial turf on the great lawn (all areas designated to have turf are light green)
Fun and interesting topography added with the small rolling hills
New exciting equipment with a natural feel that invokes a sense of adventure
Conversation gardens to allow for socializing, reading and recharging
A mosaic art wall that tells a story of a fantastic journey down a river, and provides a place to practice balancing, jumping or to just sit and relax
A longer track with relay lanes for racing
A sound garden with chimes and drums
An outside water fountain to keep hydrated
Additional trees planted to provide 88% more shade canopy
Additional shade structures over the playground equipment
Picnic tables under the trees
ADA ramps, picnic tables, and new playground equipment
